At Westview, we value dynamic worship of God. We believe that one of our greatest privileges and responsibilities is to come and worship together. Our service is a blended style of traditional and contemporary music in a casual atmosphere.
The Parables Through New Eyes
This summer we are looking at some of the parables that Jesus told. Often we think of the parables as Sunday School stories that were nice for children but pretty simple. But what if we have not only under-estimated what these stories tell us, but have completely misunderstood what they are trying to teach us?
So this summer join us as we take a fresh slant on some familiar stories. I believe that parables should surprise us, should make us think, and maybe should make us feel a bit uncomfortable. Starting July 27 we will be thinking about these questions as we read some of the parables:
Can I be a Christian without being a good neighbour?
Can I be a Christian without being a good steward?
Can I be a Christian without forgiving others?
Can I be a Christian without receiving forgiveness?
Can I be a Christian without praying?
Gospel Project for Kids
The Bible is not a collection of stories. It is one story, the story of God’s plan to rescue His people from sin and death. It is the story of redemption, the gospel message of Jesus Christ. And it’s our story, too. The Story is alive and waiting and this year we are excited to jump into it with our children.
This year we will be using the “GOSPEL PROJECT FOR KIDS” curriculum with our children. 3 years—grade 6. The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered Bible study resource that follows a chronological timeline of Bible events—presenting the story of redemption through Jesus like kids have never seen it before! Each week, these stories come to life through video, music, activities, and more.
